No Mercy. “Give us the children… the little ones…”
Are you afraid of the dark?
The historic Philipsburg Manor becomes a ghostly haunted place, lit by candles. Don’t miss The Great Jack O’Lantern Blaze & Spooky Legend Weekend. The Great Jack O’ Lantern Blaze is a Halloween spectacle integrating thousands of hand-carved jack o'lanterns — everything from your standard carved pumpkin to extremely elaborate abstract designs — lit up throughout the landscape of Van Cortlandt Manor in Croton-on-Hudson, N.Y., in various arrangements — thematic, conceptual, and otherwise. This event pays tribute and homage to Halloween, and the home of the American heritage of Halloween, Sleepy Hollow Country. Please contact us for tour dates.

Day One, Friday, October

- Great Jack O’ Lantern Blaze, featuring more than 4,000 individually hand-carved, illuminated pumpkins! Visitors meander through a woodsy, darkened, Van Cortlandt Manor’s riverside landscape and discover a breathtaking, artistic display of abstract designs, ghosts, fish, mushrooms, clowns, animals, snakes, spider webs, and dinosaurs…all made of pumpkins! Complete with spooky music and sound effects, this event delights all the senses. There’s a wonderful Halloween Museum Shop, and tasty treats, too.
- Legend Weekend in Sleepy Hollow at Philipsburg Manor. The Legend of Sleepy Hollow lives and the Headless Horseman still rides at a newly redesigned and improved event! Philipsburg Manor, lit by candle lanterns and bonfires, is a haunted landscape for four nights of insanely popular family fun. Enter the site through the ghastly gallows. Then see the goblins come out to greet the Headless Horseman! Wander the grounds at your own pace, while ghouls, witches, pirates, ghostly apparitions, and characters from folklore come eerily to life. Jonathan Kruk dramatizes The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. Be warned… the brothers Whalen will, once again, be in full costume, spooking with no mercy. “Give us the children…the little ones.”
